Sanah Baig
Sanah Baig was appointed by President Biden to serve as the Deputy Under Secretary for Research, Education, and Economics (REE) in November 2022 after serving as REE Chief of Staff for 1.5 years. In this role, Baig leads the management of a more than $4 billion mission area including the Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Economic Research Service (ERS), National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), and the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS).
Brian Guse
Brian Guse currently serves as the first permanent Director of the Office of Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production, a department wide office housed within USDA’s Natural Resources and Conservation Service. OUAIP was authorized under the 2018 Farm Bill to improve USDA’s support for urban and innovative farming operations. Prior to joining NRCS, Brian served for 22 years with USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service.
Dr. Melissa Bailey
Dr. Melissa R. Bailey is an Associate Administrator of USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS). In this position, Melissa supports the agency’s daily operations and program delivery, including the implementation of key commodity grading programs, market information services, and financial and technical assistance related activities. She also provides expertise and policy direction for USDA’s supply chain efforts and for agency-wide innovation initiatives.
